We partnered with Lemon Aide Project to make sure we always have a box on hand and at least one box to give out to anyone who asks for it. You can get it just as easily as you booked your first Free Dog Trainers appointment: Just ask us and we'll get it to you. We have a few key goals related to this program:
Free Dog Trainers was founded on the idea that everyone should have access to the support and care they need, regardless of finances or circumstances. If you want to be a resource for your friends, family, neighbors, or you community, we want to make that possible however we can. Having Narcan out in the community, even if you don't use opioids, means that someone who needs this lifesaving drug can get it when they need it most: In an overdose.
We can say, "we don't judge," all day, but that doesn't mean much until we put it into action. We can say that in big ways, like distributing Narcan and partnering with organizations doing work we believe in. But this shows up in small ways during our training sessions. Many clients have been told by others that they are doing something wrong with their dog, or that their dog needs to behave a certain way to be "good." Clients tend to think that a dog trainer is going to judge them for not taking their dog for walks, or for letting their dog do certain behaviors that they don't have a problem with.
Free Dog Trainers is a firm believer that you define success. We're here to help you figure out your definition and to help you design a path to get there. We're not here to say that your dog has to be one way to be "good."Â
Our role is as consultants, and we take that role seriously. It's not our job to judge. It's our job to help you understand options on the table with your dog. You decide what route you want to take, because this is your dog, your relationship, and your success.
We're just here to help get you what you need.
